Our authors can select among the three types of books we offer.
Although ebooks are a popular option in recent times, a good number of avid readers prefer the printed book format. I Am An Author recommends authors to select both formats unless cost is a limiting issue for the author.
If one decides to purchase a book and read right away, ebooks make it a possibility. With a number of hand-held devices like Amazon’s Kindle and Apple’s iPad making it almost seem like holding a printed book, ebooks have become extremely popular in recent times. Although the process of production is almost the same for ebooks and printed books, authors can save on the cost of printing.
Photo books and books wherein the author is sure the ebook format wouldn’t reach their intended audience are better done in printed format alone.

We help with publishing the following genres of books: Academic books, Children’s books, Fiction, Self-help, Cookbooks, Magazines, Yearbooks, Biographies, Special Needs, and other categories not covered under these.
Any specific details can be mentioned under this category. For example, under Type Academic, Subtype could be the subject of the book such as Mathematics, Management, and so on.
“Don’t judge a book by its cover” goes an adage but book covers play an important role in selling a book. Select from one of our services, and our media team will make your book cover speak for your book. We also take specific requirements or design ideas from our authors to create the cover.
This layout format provides responsive text and images. Their look and positioning on the page depends on the screen dimensions (mobile, tablet, or desktop), the screen orientation (portrait or landscape), and the changes you’ve made to text size.
Most text-heavy, single column format ebooks are in reflowable layout, which ends up on ebook readers either in Mobi (Amazon Kindle) or EPUB form. It is the most cost-effective type of ebook as it is the most widely accepted format. Dynamic layouts are most preferred for fiction and text-heavy non-fiction genres.
The fixed layout format acts like a digital lock on text and image placement. Comic books and children’s illustrated books and picture-heavy books where images and text go hand in hand are preferably done in the fixed layout. Fixed layout is not as reader friendly and as popularly accepted as the dynamic layout.

Saddle Stitching – pages are folded and stapled together
Stapling through the centerfold, also called saddle-stitching, joins a set of nested folios into a single magazine issue; most comic books are well-known examples of this type. (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bookbinding)
Books with pages numbers less than 25 pages
A paperback, also known as a softcover or softback, is a type of book characterized by a thick paper or paperboard cover, and often held together with glue rather than stitches or staples. (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paperback)
Most popular and most economical for all genres
Hardcover or hardback books are bound with cardboard covered with cloth, plastic, or leather. The pages on the inside are made of paper. (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paperback)
For large books and for children’s books
An ISBN is an International Standard Book Number. ISBNs consist of 13 digits. ISBNs are calculated using a specific mathematical formula and include a check digit to validate the number. The purpose of the ISBN is to establish and identify one title or edition of a title from one specific publisher and is unique to that edition, allowing for more efficient marketing of products by booksellers, libraries, universities, wholesalers, and distributors. (Source: https://www.isbn.org/faqs_general_questions). At I Am An Author, we recommend all our authors to get an ISBN for their books as part of our service.
